Whatabout Theatre Improv Jams

Improv jams are awesome, low-stakes ways for people to try improv in a safe, supportive environment! They are free to attend (suggested donation of $5), and are open to performers of any experience level ages 16+.

Whatabout's jams are hosted by experienced performers who select games and performers based on their stated comfort and experience levels with improv. We do our best to ensure that everyone has fun and is set up to succeed.

The Whatabout Theatre Improv Jam has 3 rules:

  1. Take Care of Yourself
    1. You have the right to be safe and feel safe at all Whatabout Theatre events. This can look like declining a game you don't want to play, asking for another suggestion if the one you've gotten is problematic, giving and removing consent for participation as needed, and expressing your personal boundaries, such as not getting down on the ground due to knee problems.
  2. Take Care of Others
    1. We don't tolerate racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, ageist, classist, or other harmful words or actions at our events! Also, only come up to the stage if your name is called and please leave your personal belongings and snacks at your seat.
  3. Have Fun!
