Go Back Improv Level 1: Welcome to Improv

CLASS: Whatabout Theatre Improv Level 1: Welcome to Improv

If you've ever considered learning improvisation, this is the place to start! In this class, you'll gain familiarity with improv concepts, grow your skills, and build relationships with your classmates.

After completing this eight (8) week class, you'll:

  • Understand stage directions and be able to position yourself on stage
  • Create and embody characters with a variety of physicalities and voices
  • Perform improvised scenes live on stage in front of an audience!

At Whatabout Theatre, we want our students to stay on T.R.A.C.K.

Trust in your community. Respect yourself and others on and off the stage. Accept people for where they start their journey. Create in a safe and collaborative environment. Know that you are enough.

INSTRUCTOR

Ashley Davis: Ashley Davis (she/her) is a veteran improviser and improv instructor. She gained her education at Pointless Brewery and Theater in Ann Arbor, MI, and has since performed in many venues across the state. When she isn't on stage she is teaching English to 8th graders and leading workshops for other teachers about how to bring improv into the classroom. Teaching improv and helping adults tap back into their inner child and re-engage in play and imagination is one of her life's greatest joys.
